To start, you’ll need to open the Firefox Profile Manager by running the following command, either by clicking Start and then Run on Windows XP, or by clicking the Windows Vista Start button and typing in the search box:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /p

Click the Create Profile… button and follow the wizard, making sure to name your profile for the person who will use it. Repeat this step for every profile you want to create.

I created three profiles – one for me, one for The Dog and a third for The Cat.

Now we need to create shortcuts to each Firefox profile. To create a shortcut, right-click your Windows Desktop and then click New Shortcut.

In the New Shortcut wizard, input the path to the Firefox profile manager, adding your new profile name in quotes, like this:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /p "The Dog"

Give your shortcut a specific name so you can identify it later.

Repeat the New Shortcut wizard until you have shortcuts for all your profiles.

Now each copy of Firefox can contain its own theme, Bookmarks and extensions. Here’s how the cat setup her copy of Firefox, which I obviously take no responsibility for:
