Brightrev.com is a software and hardware review site started in 2008. Brightrev includes reviews, screenshot galleries, screencasts, and how-tos for Windows, Apple, web apps, digital media, enterprise software and the occasional gadget. Brightrev is run by Carl Campos, an IT guy, Bay Area native and 15-year Sacramento resident who also enjoys hiking, travel and photography. Contact me at , or in plain text, carl -at-- brightrev.com. FAQQ: What technology does Brightrev.com run? A: The site runs Joomla 1.5 with a modified version of the Weblogic Template from JoomlaShack. I purchased the sun logo from Dreamstime and recolored it for my needs. I also use JomComment and the Simple Image Gallery Pro plugins, as well as an AddThis! button on every article. The site is hosted by HostGator. Q: Can I copy, modify, or reuse your content? A: Please do! All my content is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution, Non-commercial, share alike license. That means you can copy, share or remix anything I post on this site, as long as you attribute it to the site, you don't make money from it and you distribute your changes under the same license. Any of these requirements may be waived if you contact me.
Q: Why run this site? A: I like to write and this gives me an outlet. I'm secretly hoping that my hobby will make me some spare change on the side. Q: What's your day job? A: Windows support guy. Sometimes I'm a Sysadmin and other times I'm a desktop PC monkey. Q: Is your site related to Bright Hub? A: No, but I think their idea of letting users review software is a good one. You should check them out.
